The main project objective: the process of development of commenting on court hearings by attorneys, lawyers and experts in the field of justice and human rights through the unification of previous experiences and elaborate principles and rules of work common for commentators to litigation. Popularization of the idea of commenting on judicial hearings to attract more lawyers and experts in the field of justice and human rights that will be attached to the process of commenting on trials to be broadcast via the court devices.

Because of the armed conflict in Ukraine, citizens have been confronted with numerous human rights violations, in particular the violation of the rights of civilians in the East Ukraine is characterized by crimes against humanity and, in some cases, war crimes. Such a situation is new for an independent Ukraine, and therefore for the judicial and law enforcement systems, which leads to a violation of the right to a fair trial and inability to restore other violated rights.

For example, the project aims to determine the ability of the Ukrainian judicial system to work properly in armed conflict in Eastern Ukraine, to ensure the right to a fair trial with respect for the rule of law by monitoring relevant litigation and gathering, analyzing factual information from the Internet -resources on this issue.

 

The project team includes the partner organization Lugansk Regional Human Rights Center "Alternative".

Project goal is to create an effective regional network of legal commentators by efforts of lawyers, experts in the field of justice and activists from different oblasts of Ukraine as a new mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the right to a fair trial, enhancing the level of transparency of court activities, raising the level of citizens' awareness of the principle of litigation transparency, as well as other components of the right to a fair trial. 

Objective 1. To train independent legal commentators from among lawyers and experts in the field of justice for commenting/clarifying on procedural aspects, socially important, high profile court cases that are broadcast via technical facilities of courts on the official Judiciary of Ukraine website, through training and online support for legal commentators. 

Objective 2. Implementation of trial commenting in the civil society through maximizing the dissemination of video commentaries and information on commenting as well as using the broadcast of court proceedings via technical facilities of courts and their commenting as an auxiliary tool for improving the quality of legal formal and informal education.

The purpose of the project is to increase the transparency of the courts, raise public awareness of the principle of publicity of trials, as well as other components of the right to a fair trial by promoting video broadcasts of court hearings, commentary on them and other relevant information on judicial proceedings.

The aim of the project is to promote the rule of law by establishing synergies between the judiciary and the public, in particular through the media. First of all, the project activity is aimed at working with the courts of appeal, such as those that will be able to continue coordinating with the local courts, in particular with regard to the development and proper functioning of the court press services or to ensure the quality work of the specialist in connection with the funds. media (press secretary).

The aim of the project is to promote the rule of law by establishing synergies between the judiciary and the public, in particular through the media.

To achieve this goal, the project has set the following goals:

1) Establish interaction between the judicial system and the public, in particular by analyzing the needs of each party for such interaction and the current state of affairs.

2) Promote fair justice, in particular through the development of public initiatives related to monitoring and public participation in litigation.

3) On the example of the court of appeals system, improve their communication with the media, media strategy, in particular, by increasing the competence of employees.

Purpose of the project: Improving the quality of formal education in the field of law by expanding the use of effective and practice-oriented teaching methods aimed at developing applied professional skills. Namely, the spread of the use of the mechanism of translation of court hearings by the technical means of the courts in higher education institutions for the training of specialists of the legal professions.

The purpose of the project is to increase the social support of the human rights defence in Ukraine and Georgia. This purpose will be achieved via a series of online awareness raising events focused in the first place on the non-human rights defence community, awareness raising activities with the local context in the territorial communities of Ukraine and Georgia. The benefit of the project is that it encourages dialogue between Georgian and Ukrainian youth: video records of the events will be translated into Ukrainian and Georgian accordingly, and there will be joint events in the English language. The project is also expected to facilitate engagement of youth into the human rights defence.

From the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the team at Fight For Right has been helping people with disabilities in crisis situations. They have already helped more than 500 people evacuate to safe areas, cross the border safely, and find accommodation abroad. Those unable to evacuate have been given assistance as well.

 

Psychological and legal assistance for people with disabilities during wartime is provided within the project “Hotline for People with Disabilities During Wartime”, implemented by Human Rights Vector NGO in collaboration with Fight For Right NGO, with support from the project “Human Rights For Ukraine” implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (2019-2023).


 
In order to implement the project described above, the project “Communication of Judicial Cases Related to the Armed Conflict in Ukraine as an Important Component of the Implementation of Transitional Justice”, supported by “Human Rights for Ukraine”, was suspended.
