We invite you to the webinar “Human Rights: Development dynamics and modern challenges”

We invite you to the webinar “Human Rights: Development dynamics and modern challenges”, which will take place on the 12 of July 2022 at 12:00(GMT +4) (12:00-Kyiv, Chisinau; 13:00-Tbilisi). This is a part of a series of online events dedicated to the history of international solidarity, human rights, migration, and occupation, with particular attention paid to such topics in Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova. The working language of the event is Ukrainian, simultaneous translation to English will be provided. Duration – 90 minutes.
 
We invite representatives of non-governmental organizations and initiatives, staff of museums and other institutions of culture, historians, media, and specifically refugees from Ukraine and Ukrainian diaspora to join the webinar along with anyone who is interested in the topic.
 
During the webinar we will discuss:
  • The history of human rights institutions’ development in Ukraine
  • The state of human rights in Ukraine
  • Challenges in the field of human rights, caused by Russian military aggression against Ukraine
  • Best human rights protection practices  in Ukraine
Speaker of the Webinar  — Olexandra Matviychuk,a human rights defender who works on the issue of human rights in Ukraine and the OSCE region. Currently, she heads the Center of Civil Liberties NGO and coordinates work of the public initiative Euromaidan SOS. In 2016, she received the Democracy Defender Award «for an exceptional contribution to the promotion of democracy and protection of human rights» from the missions of the OSCE member states.
 
Moderator of the Webinar  – Nazarii Boiarskyi,a member of the governing board at NGO “Human rights vector”, a member of the coaching pool of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe, and an independent expert of the Eastern European Network for Citizenship Education.
 
Members of the webinar will have the opportunity to:
  • Ask questions, and communicate with the speaker during the webinar
  • Receive an electronic (digital) certificate of participation in the webinar
  • Later on, take part in a research contest on finding examples of solidarity in their local communities
  • Join the international communication platform for project participants
