Psychological and Legal Support Available for People with Disabilities in Wartime - an initiative by Human Rights Vector and Fight For Right

From the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the team at Fight For Right has been helping people with disabilities in crisis situations. They have already helped more than 500 people evacuate to safe areas, cross the border safely, and find accommodation abroad. Those unable to evacuate have been given assistance as well.

The road to evacuation is only part of the struggle — it does not end upon arrival to a safe location. There is still the struggle of processing the horrors of war and adapting to new conditions. It is important to give people psychological and legal support both on their way to safety and after they get there. Human Rights Vector joins this project to ensure people are supported throughout the whole process.

Who can receive psychological and legal help?
People with disabilities and their guardians who are located both within Ukraine and abroad. Both adults and children are eligible to receive assistance as needed.

What kind of help is available?
  • Individual online psychological consultations;
  • Psychotherapeutic support groups, where people discuss similar experiences and find ways to move forward together with the help of specialists;
  • Legal consultations regarding social protections for people with disabilities both within Ukraine and abroad.
